Thuderbolts* (The New Avengers)

Thunderbolts* is the new addition to the MCU, and no one was excited for it in my friend group except for me. I have always believed in Marvel, even though their shows and movies have not been so good lately.

This movie was the fruit of the meditation that the Marvel fans were doing ever since Endgame. Six characters who no one cares about form a team against something bigger than them.

I usually don't do favourites except for Spider-Man, but I can make an exception here, too. John Walker, the Junior Varsity Captain America, as quoted by Valentina, was my favourite character in the movie. We first saw him in the Disney+ series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where he was a really hateable character. Everyone hated him. The hate grew so much that the actor started getting death threats as he took on the mantle of Captain America.

Florence Pugh was a great example for the Marvel writers on how to write a good female superhero without having the fans go against it.
"OH MY GOD, SEBASTIAN STAN- MAN YOU LOOKING GOOD.", Anthony Mackie once said, and that was exactly my reaction to Bucky in the movie.
Hannah John-Kamen was amazing as Ghost. She carries the whole "Fine, I will help, but let me work on my own terms" vibe, which just works really well.

In this movie, the major theme that shines throughout is the theme of mental health. It is about how we stuff our sorrows and pain inside us and just create another persona, and what is left otherwise is just some Void.

The cinematography and the background score fit so well like a masala chai on a rainy day. The post-credit scenes are unmissable and directly lead to the future of the MCU

Spoiler Alert- It is fantastic.

Overall speaking, so far Thunderbolts* aka The New Avengers is definitely my favourite MCU movie which came out after Endgame. It had the heart and the plot which I was missing in the Marvel movies. If you were a Marvel fan but lost interest because of the recent projects, you should definitely check this one out; it will get you back on track in the world of Marvel.

All roads will lead to Avengers: Doomsday.
